09 Aug 2013
Recently, aspartame in our sugar free products is replaced by Stevia. Stevia is a natural sweetener that is extracted from the plant Stevia Rebaudiana. This sweetener is suitable as a replacement for sugar and is free of carbohydrates. Also is Stevia temperature stable, which makes it very suitable to use in foods, unlike other artificial sweeteners. The active substances in Stevia are in concentrated form up to 300 times sweeter than sugar. In order to make something sweet, very little is needed, which makes it a very efficient product. The taste is often described as pleasantly sweet with a light undertone.
